Sweet Jam Band was formed at Liverpool venue MelloMello during early January 2013 to help maintain the pleasing scene of fresh, lifting jazz improvisation in Merseyside. Influenced by a broad range of styles and well-known players from Lee Konitz to Trish Clowes to John Abercrombie, the group is so fortunate to work alongside experienced northern musicians such as guitarist Anton Hunter and pianist Tom Sykes in recent times.
An ongoing team exploration of true classics and original songs led by Mark Jones (sax/flute), the Sweet Jam Band continues in this city to creatively pursue more jumps into boppin’ with swingin’ hooks!
